Through most of evolution, and the 10,000 years of Agriculture, humans consumed most of their Calories (> 50%) from “Principal Starches.” The idea of the Paleo diet (Most Calories coming from Animal sources) is a myth and untrue. (Except in cultures, such as arctic peoples, who relied upon fishing for most of their food). In most cultures studied, Hunter-Gatherers were in reality mostly Gatherers! Also, in many studies, it is the women who are the Gatherers, and who therefore, supply most of the Calories to the village. See the Table below from Pontzer et al.

The above is the Overview I drew on the Blackboard during Class 2. The Overall Point of the drawing is that there are many nutrients that we have to learn about. We can’t just be worried about Carbohydrates, Protein, and Fat.
